It’s a fresh, New Year! And at least once a year you should stop, reflect and assess your online business. Review your business model, strategic plan and goals – and then implement (at least) 3 key changes. Not just run-of-the-mill improvements, but serious revenue and profit enhancing changes.
And what better time to do that than the New Year.
So here are our top 3 suggestions on how to re-think your online business and move it to the next level. Plus what we’re thinking here at Legal123 in terms of changes for us in the New Year.
1. Focus on your best revenue opportunity
Focus your efforts on one product or area of your business where you know there is potential to grow. Stop trying to please everyone and be everything to everybody. You likely have a clear idea of where the demand is and for which products/services in your business. Spend more effort on growing this area, focus and specialise on that one important opportunity.
For Legal123, the area of Online Business products and services represents the biggest future revenue opportunity. We have had many requests for additional products and the interest in our Online Business articles, blog, products and services has been overwhelming this last year. We want to deliver, so watch this space for exciting changes and new services this coming year!
2. Be consistent in promoting your business
Find a “rinse and repeat” method to accelerate the promotion of your business. We all have the tendency to think we can do more: promise greater things, launch more marketing efforts on more fronts. But don’t – fight the urge. Instead, find the one promotional technique that works best for your business and then get better and better at using it to advance your business. It might be online videos, webinars, traditional media reviews, pay-per-click advertising, radio interviews, etc. Whatever it is, focus on doing more of it this year.
For Legal123, our promotion of the business has been somewhat organic. This past year we had huge success with teaching legal concepts using infographics (for example, Copyright Infringement Myths). We have also become regular contributors to some highly respected online resources such as: Startup Smart, Smart Company and Flying Solo. In 2014 we have been offered radio spots and an affiliate promotion deal that is extremely exciting. (Stay tuned)
3. Refresh your website
Revamp your website to more clearly convey your business ‘proposition’ and update the look-and-feel of your site. What was fresh and cutting edge two years ago might be looking dated now. Websites tend to grow organically – as you add products, services and blog pages your website ends up looking like a tree with many branches. You need to regularly prune it back to ensure the site is clean, easy to navigate and most importantly, easy to understand what you are offering. Review your proposition – what you are about, what your key message is and what makes you stand out from the crowd.
For Legal123, our last major website design and logo update was in early 2013. Now we are moving ahead to deliver an even better site and product design with more focus, new products and delivery. So look out for a new and improved site offering more in 2014!
And Thank You …
Lastly, we want to add a huge thank you to all our customers and clients who have been with us or were new to Legal123 in 2013. Your feedback has been amazing and extremely encouraging, in particular on:
- how easy our products are to use and understand

We appreciate your business and support. Thank you and best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful New Year to all the clients and customers of Legal123, from the Team at Legal123.
